Development Plan

2026.03 Further Optimization of Products and Services

Next, we will further optimize all existing products and services, including the following work plans:

Equipment Upgrade

In the long-term plan of QEG.NET, we will add a service for printing personalized printed matter for customers. For example, when using the mailing service, a call sign stamp can be printed on envelopes starting from one envelope. This requires a better printer to support, so we have replaced the original HP commercial color inkjet printer with a more competent EPSON commercial color printer (retail price ¥9,000/unit).

Previously, the scanning of card surfaces was completed using a mobile App. This scanning solution has requirements for the light in the working environment, and is very prone to reflection, blurred peripheral scanning, image distortion, images that are either dark, or over-white and image distortion due to enhanced contrast. Therefore, we have purchased a commercial-grade high-speed scanning device (retail price ¥10,500/unit), which is a flagship model exclusively supplied to the industry and can handle the required scanning tasks.

After the equipment is purchased and in place, we will complete equipment debugging and system docking as soon as possible, and put it into use as early as possible.

Further Support for POSTCROSSING (Launched)

We have received feedback from users who hope to scan the content side of POSTCROSSING postcards to obtain the postcard number and card content; submit the number to POSTCROSSING for verification as soon as possible, and give evaluation feedback based on the card content. This helps users improve the efficiency of postcard exchange.

To this end, we plan to enable the system to scan the content side of postcards from POSTCROSSING, and extract the card number to feed back to users combined with image recognition technology.

Homepage Functions Will Be Enhanced

The log module on the homepage will support a series of query conditions, as well as the import of communication logs and more management operations. To improve the practicality of the log module.

Magic Window will be renamed "Subpage", as another form of the homepage, dedicated to enhancing the display of other platforms, and will support more personalized configurations, such as hiding or displaying the recipient address information module. The Subpage will also optimize the display effect and add several useful display modules.

The homepage will also support visitors to initiate card exchange applications, and integrate with functional modules such as mailing service, logs, and Subpage to provide maximum operational convenience and a coherent product experience.

Activation Code Registration Process Will Be Updated

We will update the existing registration and authentication system soon. The invitation code registration process will be retained, while the activation code registration will cancel physical activation codes and change to direct number allocation after payment. The value of invitation codes will continue to exist.

Repack & Direct Forwarding Service Will Be Updated

The Repack & Direct Forwarding service will support storage for collection, and is limited to retrieval using SF Express. At the same time, all preconditions for using this service will be cancelled.

Account Authentication System Will Be Discontinued

The entrance to the account authentication function will be taken offline first, and then when all users' authenticated identities expire, this system will be completely taken offline.

Account authentication was originally used to support the opening and use of services such as Repack & Direct Forwarding. It was found that in actual situations, many users who do not use the Repack & Direct Forwarding service mistakenly completed account authentication. Therefore, to avoid users from misunderstanding and incurring unnecessary expenses, this system will be ultimately abolished.

January 2026 Notice on Routine Data Deletion

At the start of each year, we will routinely delete envelope scan data from the previous year and earlier periods. The purpose of this work is to further strengthen the protection of your personal privacy information; no method is more secure than the complete deletion of such data.

Envelope scans serve as payment receipts and tracking documents to confirm that we have fulfilled our services as promised after you have paid the service fee. Currently, there is no better alternative method available.

We now plan to delete envelope scan data dated December 31, 2025, and earlier on February 1, 2026. This process is irreversible and the data cannot be recovered. If you have specific needs for this data, please download the envelope scans yourself before the deletion date.

2025.12 Notice Regarding Occasional Access Anomalies Due to Large-Scale System Upgrade

From December 22nd to December 26th, 2025 (5 business days), QEG.NET will be undergoing a large-scale system upgrade. During this period, server restarts may cause short-term website access anomalies. Normally, you can restore access by refreshing the page after a short wait (approximately 5 minutes).

Why is this happening?

As mentioned in the development plan, we plan to launch a series of new products and services. For example, the next update will include contact record stickers and a corresponding online contact log management module, allowing you to link mails and contact records, and choose to delegate card issuance to QEG.NET. These new features require upgrades to the existing system for compatibility.

Another example is the planned feature of directly displaying card collections on QRZ.COM, which will be released alongside the new "Homepage" product. This type of enhancement to existing products and services will necessitate a restructuring of the current system; through reorganization and orchestration, it will be better able to support the achievement of this goal.

Some Details You Might Be Concerned About

While we estimate it will take 5 business days, in reality, there may only be minor anomalies lasting a few minutes on some of those days. Based on our past experience, you usually won't notice them.

The next update is expected to be deployed by the end of December, including: contact record stickers and a corresponding online log management system; however, the initial functionality will be relatively basic and simple. Next year's event will have limited participation slots and require active registration; the referral program will continue with the same proportion.

The first version sample of the contact record sticker is shown below:

Incidentally, the next update version (containing 3 minor versions) will be handled by HAM BH4GDU.

2025.11 Explanation of the New Service Fee Charging Model and VIP Mechanism

New Service Fee Charging Model

The current service fee charging model is a 1:1 service fee based on the required postage. The corresponding services provided include a range of products or services, including the required postage, materials, storage, systems, errand delivery, and, of course, dedicated mailbox services. Thus, QEG.NET has always provided low-cost services and earned a reasonable profit from the price difference of postal products. However, the postal product market has recently begun to generally increase prices, and we believe this trend will continue and be irreversible. Therefore, we need to make appropriate adjustments to our service fee collection method to ensure that we can maintain operations and provide our users with sustainable, high-quality products and services.

The service fee adjustment is very simple, aligning with our product philosophy of "simplifying complexity through simplicity." It's easy to understand—we plan to maintain a service fee based on the required postage, but with a sliding scale. If upstream prices increase, we'll increase them; if upstream prices decrease, we'll decrease them.

To avoid frequent service fee adjustments that confuse users, we plan to publish them similarly to VIP spending thresholds, adjusting them annually; the new standards will be announced at the beginning of the year.

**However, this year (2025), we will need to make an advance adjustment in November and apply it to the new annual rate. The adjusted ratio will be 1:1.3. That is, if the postage cost ¥1, our service fee would be ¥1; under the new ratio, it will be ¥1.3. **

We understand that there will be services in transit before this adjustment. From a user's perspective, the old fee schedule should apply. Therefore, we are implementing a "collect first, refund later" compensation approach for these situations: the system will calculate and charge a service fee at a ratio of 1:1.3, and then refund the difference through the point account. For example, if the required postage is ¥1, the user will need to pay a service fee of ¥1.3, and then receive a ¥0.3 compensation in the point account.

Compensation is not immediate; it will arrive within three days of mail delivery. The compensation decision is based on the mail record registration date. After 00:00 on November 1st, the new rate will apply.

New VIP Mechanism

We plan to significantly expand the service privileges available only to VIP members next year. Recognizing that the current VIP threshold is too high, but wanting more users to experience these services, we plan to adjust our VIP product strategy.

The new VIP product will significantly lower the spending threshold. We plan to announce the 2026 spending threshold in advance on November 1st, effective immediately. The new annual spending threshold is ¥99 (currently ¥300). This means that users can instantly upgrade to VIP after paying ¥99 starting November 1st.

For every ¥99 spent, users will receive 30 days of VIP service; this can be accumulated. The rules for clearing spending within the year remain the same as the old product: spending within the current year will be cleared at 00:00 on the 1st of the following year; spending within the current year is valid only for that year.

The VIP service time of existing VIP members will not be affected by this adjustment and will be subject to the new product rules.

2025.11 Continued Enhancements to Product and Service Experiences, New Event Rules, and Account Mechanics

Since the announcement of the previous development plan, I believe you've personally experienced the various changes to QEG.NET. The various items announced in the previous development plan have now been gradually implemented. We plan to complete any unfinished items from the previous plan and optimize those already completed to provide a better user experience. In terms of priority, optimization work will be prioritized.

Homepage

Currently, the homepage not only displays your cards but also provides tools such as a receipt confirmation module for your recipients. The functionality of the homepage product will continue to expand. We will continue to optimize the homepage product, and as a key feature, the homepage's "Card Collection" will be displayed on the QRZ.COM homepage.

Mailing (Card Manager)

Customized printing was briefly available in the mailing module and was selected by some users. This test service provided testing and verification for the printed contact record sticker product. We've achieved the desired results, so the custom printing service will be discontinued.

Based on the data from this test service, we will optimize the mailing module and work towards launching a new custom printing service. Initially, a contact record sticker will be offered. Basically, if your card supports a sticker area of a specific size, you can use QEG.NET's printing device to print the contact record and affix it to the card. The corresponding module will support tournament-standard log formats, which will not only improve card signing efficiency and experience, but also ensure a certain degree of professionalism in the contact records on issued cards.

To support this product, the mailing module's user interface will be modified.

Standardization

Similar to the interface used when maintaining delivery addresses on major e-commerce platforms, we will also adopt a similar approach; the province, city, and district data for the address will be separated.

This data standardization will help improve the accuracy of cost calculations and enable the system to automatically bill for express delivery.

New Event Rules

We will soon be hosting more events to enhance your experience, with new event rules. Registration will be required for these events, and certain high-value events will have limited availability.

Account Deactivation

Since there are already user accounts with multiple instances of overdue shipments, and storing items requires material and management costs, we will consider the number of overdue shipments and account activity. Accounts with more than one overdue shipment destruction may be deactivated.

During account deactivation, no mail will be matched, registered, or stored, and all services will be suspended.

Deactivated accounts can be immediately activated by topping up the required number of points. Accounts may be blocked or deleted at any time after one year of inactivity; at that time, the username can be re-registered.

Inventory Management

We plan to implement stricter inventory management techniques and measures to better safeguard stored items.

Once the upgrade deployment is complete, we will provide you with more detailed progress information.

Customer Support

We will further optimize our customer support site to provide clear product and service instructions and reference materials.

2025.06 Major updates for the second anniversary: resealing and direct transfer, receipt confirmation, card signing on behalf of others (device capability open), return envelope (SASE)

Time flies, and two years have passed in a blink of an eye. We are fortunate to be able to stick to our original intention and continue to innovate to provide better services to all members. We have always cared about the user experience and earnest expectations of all members, and keep in mind the purpose of providing members with high-quality and low-cost products and services. Now, let us go one step further.

Resealing and direct transfer

We plan to reorganize the collection and transfer services and divide them into two categories: storage and waiting for collection and resealing and direct transfer.

Storage and waiting for collection is the previous service model. When QEG.NET receives your mail, it performs a series of operations such as unsealing, registration, scanning, packaging, weighing, and warehousing, and provides you with storage services according to the service rules. You can browse the status of the items at any time, check the card photos, and freely decide to retrieve them immediately or in batches after a certain period of time.

Re-sealing and direct forwarding means that when QEG.NET receives your mail, it will register it based on the information on the envelope. Generally, it will not be opened, so it will not scan, store, or deposit. Instead, it will forward the mail to you immediately. This service is used to meet the needs of users who use QEG.NET as a simple transfer tool and mind opening the envelope.

We will gradually open this service to all members. Members of the previous service model can freely choose to switch to this new service model.

Signature confirmation

For the outbound service, QEG.NET will provide a signature confirmation service. Signature confirmation means attaching a QR code for signature confirmation to the outgoing mail. If the recipient cooperates in scanning and confirming the signature, QEG.NET will synchronize the signature result to the sender. So that the sender can understand that the mail has been delivered.

In addition to this form, we also plan to upgrade the homepage function to provide multiple forms of confirmation tools for the recipient to choose to use.

Card signing on behalf of others

QEG.NET will study the opening of the service capabilities of related equipment for members to call. As a practice, for example, the communication information on the QSL card will support the use of QEG.NET related equipment to print instead of handwriting. When issuing a large number of cards in batches, directly using the communication log data to print on the card surface can significantly reduce the workload of issuing cards and reduce errors, and can also improve the recipient's card reading experience.

In order to comply with the service tenet of QEG.NET, we will also provide this service when issuing a single card. However, it will be challenging and crucial to study a cost-effective solution.

Return envelope

For the mailing service, we will plan to provide an additional service, namely, providing a return envelope (SASE). SASE (Stamped Addressed Self-Addressed Envelope) means that when sending mail, an envelope with return postage and self-addressed is attached to the mail to facilitate the recipient to reply.

We will initially provide this service in China, and then we will study how to provide this service in other countries.

2025.02 Homepage, Market, Privacy

Homepage

We plan to launch a new personal homepage module.

As the first product, it will display the data of your card scans to form a "photo wall" effect.

Mail

We will weigh the mail when it enters the warehouse and synchronize the results to you through the system. The mail list will show the weight data.

If the specifications and parameters of the mail are complete when it enters the warehouse, you can pay the service fee directly when you retrieve it, and you don't have to wait for someone to manually issue the bill.

List mail will support differentiation based on the source of the forwarding address. Improve the convenience of using multiple forwarding addresses for different occasions.

For Postcrossing, the mailing service will support printing ID. The ID is clearly printed at the appropriate position on the edge of the postcard using a dot matrix printer, and this service is free.

Market

We plan to start renovating the market and sell more goods.

Privacy

We are going to clean up old envelope scans. Any data that is no longer necessary will be completely erased. This will help protect your privacy.

IMPORTANT

We announced on 2025-02-05 that we plan to clean up the envelope scan data for 2023 and 2024 on 2025-02-08.
