Forward
Mail Forwarding & Storage provides you with services based on a dedicated receiving address. In the Storage for Pickup mode, QEG.NET offers a range of services including envelope opening (with envelope retention option), postcard image scanning, protective packaging, warehousing, and storage. Scanned images of postcards allow you to preview the scenic or featured sides of the cards, and the data can be integrated with other featured products and services of QEG.NET to enhance your user experience—such as generating a postcard collection via the Homepage feature to preserve digital memories. The storage service enables you to temporarily keep your mail until it is convenient for you to retrieve it.
You can set up a mapping relationship between the dedicated receiving address and your actual delivery address through the system, and the actual address can be modified at any time. This not only helps protect your privacy by preventing your real address from being easily disclosed online, but also proves invaluable when you have a frequently changing residential address yet need to provide a long-term, stable receiving address to external parties.
General Usage
Step 1: Complete Forwarding Address Information
Follow the prompts in the system interface to fill in your forwarding address details. If you plan to retrieve mail via registered post or courier, you must provide a contact phone number. This phone number can be different from the one bound in your security settings.
Although a contact phone number is not mandatory for regular mail retrieval, based on QEG.NET's operational experience, we recommend providing one to avoid mail returns. We have encountered multiple cases where mail was returned due to the recipient being unavailable at the delivery address and no contact number being available to reach them.
Step 2: Set Up Multiple Forwarding Addresses
After completing the above step, the system will generate a default dedicated address (primary code), where the recipient code is your account username; this default address cannot be modified.
The system additionally provides up to 2 extra dedicated addresses (secondary codes). You can customize the recipient codes for these additional addresses to distinguish mail sources, configure different forwarding modes, and set mail receiving preferences according to your needs.
Step 3: Select Forwarding Mode
Two modes are currently available: Storage for Pickup and Repack & Direct Forwarding. Changing the forwarding mode will result in corresponding adjustments to your mail receiving preferences.
Storage for Pickup
This is the original, classic service offered by QEG.NET. In this mode, when QEG.NET receives your mail, the envelope will be opened, the contents will be inventoried and registered, the main postcard will be scanned on its scenic or featured side, and then the items will be placed in a protective sleeve and weighed. If you opt to retain the envelope, it will be weighed together with the contents. The system will then assign a storage location, and staff will complete the warehousing process accordingly.
Once stored, you can query the relevant information through the system and decide when to retrieve the mail at your convenience, provided that the storage period does not exceed the maximum duration specified in QEG.NET's publicly available service terms (detailed information can be found in the Service section of the official website).
Repack & Direct Forwarding
As the name suggests, in this mode, after QEG.NET receives the mail, it will register the basic information based on the sender and recipient details stated on the envelope. The mail will then be stored in the warehouse unopened for collection—i.e., it will not be opened, nor will the inner contents be scanned or registered.
When retrieving the mail, only SF Express is supported; other delivery methods such as surface mail and registered mail are not available.
The Repack & Direct Forwarding service requires a signed agreement to activate. For specific rules and requirements, please refer to the system prompts and relevant instructions during activation.
Step 4: Configure Mail Receiving Preferences
After confirming the forwarding mode, the system will present optional mail receiving preferences based on the selected mode. Any changes to preferences will only take effect for mail items that QEG.NET has not yet received after the modification.
The current mail receiving preference options are as follows:
Envelope Retention
When enabled, the original envelope will be retained for you. This service is provided free of charge. The original envelope will be warehoused together with the contents without being placed in a separate sleeve, and the storage weight will include the weight of the original envelope.
This option is available when the forwarding mode is set to Storage for Pickup. If disabled, the original envelope will be removed and destroyed using a professional paper shredder before warehousing.
When the forwarding mode is set to Repack & Direct Forwarding, this service is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled, as envelope retention is inherent to the nature of the Repack & Direct Forwarding service.
Vacuum Sealing
When enabled, the contents of your mail will be protected using vacuum-sealed packaging. This service is chargeable.
By default, QEG.NET uses food-grade PE (polyethylene) bags for basic packaging of mail contents, which provides protection against dust, scratches, and splashes. You can opt for this service to enhance the level of protection for your items.
Vacuum-sealed packaging uses food-grade materials and is sealed using a vacuum sealer after air extraction, achieving a similar effect to commercially available vacuum-sealed food products. Compared to PE bags, vacuum-sealed packaging provides complete air and water isolation.
Pre-purchase of vacuum-sealing service credits is required before enabling this service. Credits will be deducted based on actual usage during the warehousing process. Generally, one vacuum-sealed bag is used per mail item. To reduce your costs, multiple cards from the same unpacking batch may be packaged together in a single vacuum-sealed bag whenever possible.
Fee Structure
When retrieving mail, the service fee is calculated based on the total weight of the warehoused mail plus the weight of the envelope used for forwarding. The fee is generally determined by the face value of the postage required. The service fee includes all associated costs such as shipping, packaging, materials, registration fees, and storage fees.
The required postage amount is determined in accordance with the carrier's tariff standards. For example, deliveries within China follow the tariff standards of China Post or SF Express, which can be found on their respective official websites.
No fees are charged for the use of dedicated receiving addresses. When using SF Express for mail retrieval, the express service is selected by default.
